Who May Adopt
Statute: Tit. 10, § 7503-1.1- A husband and wife jointly if both are least age 21
- A stepparent
- An unmarried or legally separated person at least age 21
Who May Be Adopted
Statute: Tit. 10, §§ 7503-1.1; 7507-1.1- A child
- An adult
Who May Place a Child for Adoption
Statute: Tit. 10, § 7503-2.1- The child's parent(s)
- Legal guardian or guardian ad litem
- The department
- A licensed child-placing agency
